Yes, I started living in Donvale, which is in the Warrandyte electorate at the end of 2020. I also run a small cafe and provide mathematics tuition to kids at the Smart@me cafe at 486 Ringwood Warrandyte Road as my personal hobby.
I agreed that Australia should reconcile with the First Nation people and recognize their special role in this land. However, I do not think the Voice is the best way to do so. I am still undecided if the referendum is held today. I am still listening to the debate. I believe many Australians are similar.
I support the private schools paying payroll tax as they are part of the economy that contributes to this society. The government schools are owned by Victorians and I think that payroll tax from the government schools is NOT contributing to the net income of the state, hence is redundant. You do not earn anything by paying tax to yourself. Simple mathematics.
I do not have pets, but I object to the use of prongs and shock collars to train dogs. It is cruel.
I support strengthening the power of RSPCA and the local council to inspect and prosecute puppy farms for improper operation.
I think some work will require mandatory vaccination. The issue is which work should have. Some people lost their work because of mandatory COVID-19 vaccination an issue tackled by the past government. The current and future government when reviewing the decision will need to discuss with the professional organizations of that profession instead of making a decision solely based on administrative authority
I do not have enough knowledge and information to make a stand. If I were elected as a member of Parliament and if I were needed to make a decision on this aspect, I shall do my homework to get enough expert information to make a decision
I agree with the reality of global warming. The difference among people is whether the warming is transient, cyclical or random. If I were a member of Parliament and need to make a decision related to this, I shall seek expert opinions on the possible impacts of the decision on different aspects of society
The Communist Party of Australia was founded in 1920 and dissolved in 1991. You can find out more about its history in many ways
For funding in public education, I think that we have spent a lot on it and it is NOT value for money. I was a mathematics educator for years and had seen the bold experiment at the time of Joan Kirner. Labor at that time was aggressive to change but unfortunately, the government was not professional enough to seek a sensible path. I believe that we should maximize the benefits of what we have spent on education instead. I do not support the cutting of funding but believe we have a large waste in this area
CALD means Culturally and Linguistically Diverse. It is a term for the Australian and state governments to allocate funding to provide services to society addressing the needs of those who are new to Australia. The official definition is people either born overseas or have at least one of the parents born overseas. At the 2021 census, there were about 51.5% of Australians were CALD.
My experience is that governments in Australia and community leadership are still not operating in a "CALD" sensitive mode as most of these leaders lack the understanding of CALD communities. My participation in this election will give greater CALD awareness and contribution to this society through my role in the Parliament.
This does not mean that I only focus on CALD issues or perspectives. I met so many Aussie that I think I can add value because I am CALD.
I do not support mature minors legislation. I am not saying minors cannot be mature. I think the problem is how to define a minor to be mature. In fact, adults can be very immature. Minor is a legal term defining their responsibility and in a certain sense their rights in society. Mature refers to their psychological or personal development stage.
I believe that gender, sexuality, and perception of sexuality are three different concepts. Theories people developed through observation do not necessarily reflect a true phenomenon. The knowledge taught in school tends to simplify reality, especially in primary or junior secondary schools. Assuming kids are adults and have the responsibility and the ability to determine what is true or false has caused great problems in our school system.
At least in the near future, cash in circulation should be kept for some time
